How to achieve a sustainable use of water?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

According to the World Report on the Development of Water Resources (NU, 2021) the use of fresh water has increased by a factor of six over the last 100 years and this is due to population growth, global warming and the development of economies.<\/span><\/p>

Water is an essential resource for human life, animals and ecosystems, so its scarcity would generate different problems such as food insecurity, diseases and ecosystem death (animals and vegetation).<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

For many years there has been talk of the different ways in which we can promote the responsible use of water in our homes and society. Among them are considered the reuse of water from laundries, the improvement of sanitary facilities in the home, awareness about the waste of unnecessary water, etc.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

However, it is also important to know the amounts of water consumed by the different economic activities carried out in the countries. In Latin America and the Caribbean, the demand for water for agriculture is equivalent to 70%, with variations between countries; 19% for domestic purposes and 11% for industries, including mining (Organization of the United Nations for Food and Agriculture, 2015). Therefore, to obtain the sustainability of the water resource, it is necessary to recognize its importance as a primary issue in sustainable management policies.<\/span><\/p>

In this way, what is sought is the implementation of different ideas and technologies that promote, from governments, the development of water policies in the various productive sectors of a country.<\/span><\/p>
